Shelf Cabinets are Versatile
Sometimes you just need a shelf. Cabinet manufacturers are happy to oblige with shelf cabinets in the same wood and finish as the rest of the kitchen cabinets they’ll make for you. Some are made for walls, some for the floor. You can get them to go on a straight run, or for corners. Rather than buy a specified “shelf cabinet,” I’ve seen folks just get a regular cabinet, but with no doors. You can do this do this, specify a finished interior, and Voila! You get a shelf cabinet that will line up nicely with the rest of your kitchen. AND, since it’s a regular cabinet, it can be had in the same widths as any other wall or base cabinet in that manufacturer’s line; you’re not limited to their regular shelf cabinet models and the limited choice of dimensions.
